General Information
- The admissions deadline is May 1; however, the application period is closed when enrollment capacity is reached. Applying early is important!
- We use a “rolling admissions” process in which applications are reviewed as they are received.
- Applicants are informed of their enrollment status within a few weeks of their applications.
- Please note that GRE scores are not required.
Admission Requirements
- Undergraduate GPA of 3.00 or higher based on the last 60 credits earned from the degree granting institution.
- Minimum one year of teaching experience.
- Basic computer skills and equipment, and a reliable internet connection.
- Teaching during the two years while enrolled in the program is required. This can be part time or full time in a public or private school, or within a community program or setting wherein you have access to students.
There are circumstances in which exceptions can be made regarding admissions requirements. Please contact us with questions.

Tuition and Fees
Please note that the following tuition rate is for UW-Madison special programs offered online. It is not the rate published for graduate programs on the registrar’s page. Our program tuition rate and fees are listed below.
Tuition: $800 per credit.
Fees: Currently, there are not any additional fees charged to students.
Additional Cost: Students are responsible for purchasing required materials, such as textbooks, for their courses. Instructors will provide information regarding required materials to students upon enrollment.
Financial Aid: Information about the different types of financial aid is available through the UW-Madison Office of Student Financial Aid.
By university policy, students enrolled in the Master of Science for Professional Educators program are not permitted to accept teaching assistantships, project assistantships, research assistantships, or other appointments that would result in a tuition waiver.
